Thank you for choosing an Avery Labrador Retriever ….
Now buckle your seatbelt and enjoy the ride!
As a young breeder, I would print off hard copy puppy packets containing 65 or more double sided pages and expect my poor puppy families to go through every page with me on puppy pickup day when all they wanted to do was to play with their new baby. (facepalm) What can I say....I had the best of intentions, but didn't have a clue.
Age and experience have proven to me that the best way to get this information across is to present it BEFORE my families take their sweet puppies home. So here's your direct link to your puppy packet, so you can access it quickly at any time and we can save a tree or 35.
Please review each section of the puppy packet and let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

Feeding Recommendation
Your pup has been started on the following food and they are doing well on it. Purina Pro Plan High Protein Chicken & Rice Formula Large Breed Dry Puppy Food Please contact me with any food related questions. Note: a 2 - 4 month old puppy should have 2½ – 3½ cups of food a day. That is what your puppy is currently getting; 1 cup 3 times a day. Your puppy should be eating more than an adult’s ration from 5 months through the end of puppyhood. |
Here is an excerpt from the Labrador Retriever official standard….”The underline is almost straight, with little or no tuck-up in mature animals.”
People often ask why puppies I raise end up with more bone, coat, and muscle tone than their pets. Most times this has to do with the way they are fed as they are growing. Your vet is likely more accustomed to seeing field bred Labradors, so please do NOT put your puppy on a diet or restrict their food without discussing their condition with me. Your puppy should have an underline which matches his topline.
